Top Agent Reveals His 3 Steps To Success Secret

Last week I attended the NAR convention in Lost Wages Nevada and had the pleasure of catching up with close friends, gurus and top producing agents.

With video camera in hand I created a series on raw, uncut to the point videos that I will be posting over the next few weeks.

(Open up this entire post to see/play the the video)

I have to warn you ahead of time that these are NOT carefully scripted, choreographed antiseptic works that are commonplace in real estate today. In fact, some of the speakers will shock even offend many agents ... But that's what happens when people are passionate and speak from the heart.

Matt Jones is one of those agents that doesn't pull his punches and after only a few short years in the business, is now the dominant brokerage in his area.

Michael, even uncut, your interviews rock---hence the name "That Interview Guy." Matt's comments are right on track. Even though I focus on the mind-set first and the marketing second in my coaching program, I'm always amazed at how many agents think that means they don't have to take ACTION. The only way for agents to succeed in this market is to get thier mind focused and get their butt moving. I loved this and look forward to more! Tamara D.

Haha. It's always refreshing to hear/see a voice with candor. Matt's observations remind me of a Realtor I know. He's retired from another profession and had the idea that he would now simply "do real estate" part time during his retirements years. He "just doesn't want to work so hard anymore." He's said as much to me and, surprisingly, to others in his SOI.

So, I was surprised when he shared a story with me. He seemed aggravated that an acquaintance of his, with whom he has enjoyed dinner outings, chose another agent to list their property, despite the fact that he enjoys a stronger "friend" relationship with the prospect than the other agent. (Well, duh. Why should anyone pay a commission to an agent that "just doesn't want to work so hard?")  I'm still trying to get him to hear the unintended message he keeps sending to others.

Great video interviews, Michael. I hope to see more.

'Looking forward to the video footage, Michael. As for controversy? Bring it on! ;-)
