It's a beautiful day today in Southern California.  So, this post is a quickie and addresses a couple of questions I got on a previous article I wrote about Google's Street View, and which I've been meaning to post here on a slow, rainy day... (ahem).

In a previous post I wrote about Google's Street View and how it can be a double-edged sword for agents trying to put the best face on those aesthetically challenged listings.  Despite its sword-iness and big-brotherishness, there was still enough of us to think it's still pretty slick functionality for single-property web sites and agent blogs -- only Street View isn't yet available everywhere.  So the question came up about how to find out if Google has mapped out a particular area for Street View?

No need to go googling for a reference page; it's actually easier than you think.

1.  Just go to maps.google.com.

2.  "Scale up" the map view to about the size of the U.S.  You'll see a map littered with red dots.  Similar to what you see below.

3.  Now, simply click the Street View button (just to the right-of-center on the top border of the map).  You'll see little camera icons similar to those shown below.  These icons mark the Street View locales.  Clicking on any of the cameras will allow you to zoom in.  (No camera?  Not yet available.)

I hope you're all having a great weekend!  I'm off to the beach!
