Looking back over my real estate career to the late 70's and early 80's when there were no facsimile machines, no personal computers or scanners."? Fast photography results meant dropping offer your 35 millimeter film at a small drive up box at the end of a grocery store parking lot for a 24-hour turn around and the internet was only know by a chosen few."? Yes, times have changed!"? At only 46 it seems strange for me to use the terminology "back in the old days," but in those days good real estate agents still found a way to create flyers and do off-the-wall marketing ideas with what technology we did have."? Cutting and pasting literally meant using scissors and glue to make a flyer and hoping that you lightened the copy machine the correct amount so the outline of your picture would not be shown on your finished product."? I'm sure those who practiced real estate in the 40's 50's and 60's would be making the same claim I made earlier in this blog."? If only we had the tools available to us they have now"."?

So why do more real estate agents neglect or fail to use all the new business models laid out before them today?"? It's probably the same reason many agents neglected to incorporate those same tools back in the early 80's."? To be successful and prosper as a real estate professional you have to use and implement the given tools available to you at any given stage in your career."? Today, agents can turn to digital cameras, scanners, CD and DVD authoring tools, virtual tools pod casts, blogging and the list goes on."? As I noted to my class yesterday, you have to develop a marketing plan, put that plan in writing and carry out the ideas and technology tools you want to use with your real estate career."? Otherwise you'll fail to see and reap the benefits today's marketing and technology tools have to offer."?

"?

As Henry Wadsworth once said, "all things must change to something new, to something strange.""? It's a great time to be a real estate professional today, and a great time to embrace and utilize today's new marketing and technology tools!
