Don't whine...RESIGN!
July 26, 2007 by Valleri CrabtreeAre you finding that you are investing more time begin negative than positive about what you are doing? Does the thought of doing whatever you are doing one more day make you insane"?? Are you feeling weighed down with the responsibilities of your work, looking at these as a burden rather than an exciting challenge?
If so, just stop."? That's right."? STOP."? Do something else."? Assuming that you want to stay in the real estate profession, think about what else you might enjoy."? If you enjoy numbers, a career as a mortgage broker, loan officer, or appraiser"?might be the ticket!"? If you like to see how homes are constructed and maintained, you may enjoy being a home inspector."? If you enjoy looking at homes and helping people achieve their dreams, consider becoming a real estate sales associate."? If you like public speaking, a real estate instructor might be what you are looking for."? If you enjoy management, maybe its time to see about becoming a branch manager or a broker. If you like the technical aspects of the transaction and the closing, check out opportunities at a title company.
How can you explore these fields without giving up what you are doing now"?? One of the best ways is to"?arrange an"?informational interview with the hiring manager in the field in which you are interested."? Another way is to shadow someone who already does that job."? And, of course, there are plenty of educational offerings about every aspect of the real estate field.
The worst thing that you can do is stay in your career path and grow more negative."? The quality of your work is in direct relationship to your feelings about it."? Don't drag yourself and your work down."? Don't whine...RESIGN!
