For the past few years this industry has been like a"?wild ride at Disney World - buy your ticket, get on"?board with drink in hand and hold on tight.

The challenge"?now in a slowing market"?is that many of the newer agents are at a disadvantage. They have never had the experience of working in a "normal" market. One where you actually have to work to get homes listed right and sold.

Sure all the tech tools and lead generations systems are a great thing to have, but"?unless you know what to say and how to say it, those leads are meaningless when you do come face to face with a prospect.

The simple"?truth is that agents need"?to go back to the basics ... dialogues and scripts.

And"?no one"?does them better than the Duke of Dialogues Floyd Wickman.

You are absolutely right about many agents not knowing how to operate in a historically normal market. It is going to be interesting to see how they adapt or move to other jobs as the markets continue to correct to historical appreciation levels over the next couple of years. The good news for well prepared investors is the buying opportunities are plentiful in many markets now and will get better as 2007 progresses. The bad news for poorly prepared speculators who fancy themselves to be investors is we will likely see a flood of Casey Serin type stories over the next 36 months.
