There are different aspects of the financial picture that are common in what makes a good mortgage loan. All of these elements have a degree of risk to the lender. Mortgage companies judge these risks and assign a credit grade to them. The higher the risk to the lender results in a higher rate to the Borrower. This week we will discuss the credit scores and credit profile and how the lender will look at them.

Although sentenced in October for a 15-year prison term that was scheduled to start on October 13, 2006 Stuart Wolff is still a free man. A U.S. District Court judge ruled that he was not a flight risk and can remain out of federal custody while he pursues his appeal based on a substantial question of law or fact. Wolff is however subject to an asset freeze order and a $4 million cash bond secured by his residence, private securities and a portion of the equity in his parent's Oklahoma residence.
