What's that Smell?

Scents affect our moods and our learning capability. Reams of studies have linked the sense of smell to memory. Now hotels are exploring how to use this information to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Westin Hotels & Resorts have created a signature white tea scent to spritz in their lobbies, corridors, and other public areas. The Marriott Resorts are currently exploring the use of aromatherapy in their lobbies as well. Disney has long known that smell has a strong affect on our appetite. At one of our recent meetings, we spied a Disney employee spritzing orange scent around our morning continental breakfast buffets and later lavender in the lobby areas.

Try some aromatherapy at your next meeting or event!
