My friend purchased his home about 3 years ago for $1.5 million today if he decides to sell the market price is $2.6 million."? The original agent that listed the home also represented my friend in the purchase, she double ended the deal at 5% or $75,000."? She intends to charge 6% on the property today or $156,000."?

Her justification for the increase was all the marketing she would have to do."? Websites, newspaper ads, luxury magazines etc."? (By the way, in his area homes sell in about 45 days when priced properly)."? This home is a simple home in a very desirable market area, under 2500 square feet with great views of the ocean."?

My friends response was, "Mean you didn't do that the first time you sold the property 3 years ago?""? His question to her was "What justifies paying double for the same service you provided 3 years ago?""?

Home prices in many areas have gone through the roof in a short period of time."? The effort many agents made during the run up was minimal at best."? What value is being added to the transaction to warrant such an increase in the cost to sell a home?

I fully appreciate those working in areas were the average sale price is $100,000 ... they earn their 6 or 7 percent ... but areas were home prices have doubled or triple in a short period of time ... What is the justification"?? What extra work or value is being performed"??

If you have ever been through a divorce the phrase "Only the lawyers win." is often heard ...
