Debate of liability
June 2, 2007 by Allen WrightWould the fear of potential liability cause agents not to further their education or obtain a designation"?? Would the courts view an agent with a designation to be of higher caliber and would a different standard be applied to that agent because they hold a designation?
If this were the case than nobody would ever attempt to pursue higher level of knowledge.
A designation merely states that you have gone beyond the required curriculum of being a real estate agent to achieve a better understanding of the business to better assist your customer."? A designation does not mean you are infallible it does mean you should have better understanding of the potential pitfalls.
Unlike many industries, a real estate professional credentials do not mean they get paid more for the job of buying and selling houses."? Therefore a designation is for personal growth and can be used as a benchmark for the consumer to compare various agents.
What say you"?? Are designations potential liabilities?
