Nothing delights a teacher more than an enthusiastic student who without delay sets to work on the new skill acquired.  Such was the case when Mary Jankowski of Reid Real Estate in Bremerton Washington took The Power of Staging class recently.  Her eagerness paid off as she set to work staging her listing.  Less than 3 weeks after taking the class and after only 5 days of staging the home using the clients’ furniture and a few acquired accessories, she had an offer and successful sale. Mary’s passion was so palpable that she has subsequently been appointed to oversee and advise on staging for other agents in her office.  We chat and email regularly and she constantly impresses me with her ever growing portfolio of ‘before and after’ photographs and her positive energy.  After some research on the internet and using simple wooden pickets Mary created a headboard.  She and her grand daughter had fun painting it.  Soon after that she was arranging for more staging classes for the rest of her office. When last I heard, Mary was planning a open house/barbeque for a condo complex that had numerous units for sale…….  

Mary is one of those people who make it happen.  Instead of wondering ‘how deep the recession will run’ she is forecasting an upswing in the market.  Rather than dragging her chin on the ground being the prophet of doom, she’s out there getting educated, creating and in turn educating.  Now take a good hard look at yourself; do you see the doughnut or the whole?
